It is always an exciting thing for me to watch how God in His perfect love and wisdom has handcrafted individuals for specific ways to serve Him. Elvie was made for Hope Music Works.
Elvie not only has a deep love of God, is a wonderful musician, has a quick wit, and a love of people but he has also experienced life’s ups and downs and thus can empathize with the least of these and their suffering.
I highly recommend Elvie Malcom and this ministry to which He has been called by God the Father.

Elvie has brought joy and laughter to our friends with disabilities at club. His sensitivity and willingness to share his talent with these kids is an amazing gift from God. We always look forward to Elvie's visits as he reveals Jesus' love through music and song.

The City of Andover would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your contribution to this year’s Butler Mission of Mercy campaign. This is a truly worthy event, and without the generosity and community mindedness people and organizations like Hope Music Works, it would not have been possible.

Today, Herk's dad passed away from this earth and went peacefully to the Lord. He did this surrounded by his family singing "how great thou art" as it was played by Elvie on guitar. What a blessing.
I am still numb from the experience and, frankly, still in awe. This ministry is amazing and stirred many hearts today. I thank God for Elvie's commitment and gifts. Thanks for being faithful Elvie. And, thank you for your gift today. I will be forever grateful.

Hope In Transit was formed as a means to live the love of Jesus Christ to Native America. Using music and arts as a vehicle, Hope In Transit seeks to minister to spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs at individual, organizational, and community levels.
Hope In Transit’s primary program is a traveling music school that travels in a monthly cycle to three locations on the Navajo and White Mountain Apache reservations. We spend one week per month at each location. We teach bass, drums, keyboard, and guitar at each location. The Traveling Music School seeks to provide a healthy pastime to young people who are often in a position to choose between dangerous and self-destructive or healthy and productive behavioral patterns.
Howdy, friend and fan!
The last thing for me is something very special I want to share. During one of the "off days" I had after the Thursday music competition, I had a chance to travel to El Dorado, KS, to visit a fellow named Stephen. Stephen has my Rosewood CD, really loves my playing, and is quadriplegic.
I played a mini-concert for him in his apartment, with his sister and full-time caregiver in tow. My host for this, Elvie Malcom, and I played "Dust In The Wind" and "Country Roads" plus bang up versions of Eagles' tunes and you-name-it. I think this was the high point of my trip. I got to be a true Fingerstyle Guitar Champion for The Lord and His Christ. All the trophies and toys and the fame in the world cannot compare to this!
